Olivia Rodrigo Joins Lamine Yamal As Barcelona Clinch La Liga Glory

Olivia Rodrigo met Lamine Yamal on the pitch before El Clásico on Sunday night, as FC Barcelona celebrated a title-clinching evening against Real Madrid CF. The interaction took place moments before kickoff ahead of one of the biggest fixtures in world football.

Rodrigo attended the match as part of Barcelona’s ongoing partnership with Spotify, which has featured several major artists on the club’s jerseys in recent seasons. Videos of Rodrigo greeting Yamal on the pitch quickly spread across social media ahead of the match. Yamal, who missed the game through injury, was still present to support his teammates during what became a decisive night in the La Liga title race.

Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico to officially secure the La Liga championship. The result marked the first time Barcelona actually clinched the league title against Real Madrid in the historic rivalry.

For the May 10 clash, Barcelona wore a special-edition home shirt featuring Rodrigo’s “OR” butterfly logo in place of Spotify’s standard branding. The design was part of Spotify’s ongoing artist collaboration campaign with the club.

At 23, Rodrigo became the youngest artist to have her logo featured on a Barcelona jersey. The collaboration also reflected her continued success on Spotify, where she has more than 55 million monthly listeners and multiple songs in the platform’s Billions Club.

Barcelona previously partnered with artists including The Rolling Stones, Drake, Coldplay, Karol G, Travis Scott, and Rosalía for previous El Clásico and promotional collaborations.

Barcelona’s win over Real Madrid also added another major achievement to Lamine Yamal’s growing career. The 18-year-old collected his third La Liga title with the club following Sunday’s result.

According to Barca Blaugranes, Yamal now has more La Liga titles than Cristiano Ronaldo, who won two league championships during his time at Real Madrid. The victory also delivered a first La Liga title for Marcus Rashford, who opened the scoring with a free kick before Ferran Torres added Barcelona’s second goal.

The result left Barcelona and Real Madrid level on all-time El Clásico victories with 106 wins each, alongside 52 draws in the historic rivalry.
