Spotify Wrapped 2023: Taylor Swift Emerges As Top Global Artist

Taylor Swift just ended 2023 with a big bang – basically making it 2023 (Taylor’s Version). After completing a year of touring, dropping two re-recorded albums, and loudly announcing a new love interest, it seems Swift has had one of her best years so far.

As the year is ending, Spotify presented their Spotify Wrapped of 2023, and Swift is the top artist of the year. Here are all the statistics and how she decided to treat her fans over this accomplishment.

Spotify Wrapped just dropped in, giving users an analysis of their listening activity over the year. Fans could take a look at their top artists, top songs, and top genres, along with messages from their top artists.

Along with Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers‘ became the top song, led by SZA’s ‘Kill Bill‘, Harry Styles‘ ‘As It Was‘ and Jung Kook’s ‘Seven‘. Swift is the only artist who has two spots on the list with ‘Cruel Summer‘ and ‘Anti Hero‘.

‘Midnights’ by Taylor Swift also scored the #2 spot in the top albums global chart. On #7 she had her album ‘Lover’.

So how did Swift celebrate this achievement? She did it with a little reward for her fans.

    Cover for ‘You’re losing me’

After the release of ‘Midnights‘, Taylor dropped the deluxe version of the album with two new songs. One was a quintessential breakup song called ‘Hits Different‘ and another one was ‘Snow On The Beach‘ featuring more Lana Del Rey. A third song called ‘You’re Losing Me‘ was released in limited edition physical copies. For months, Swifties had begged Taylor to release it on streaming platforms. And as a way of celebrating her top artist achievement, Taylor did exactly that.

She took to social media and wrote, “We’ve seriously had THE MOST fun this year out there on tour and now this. Are you serious. So I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)” on streaming… so here you go! You can finally listen EVERYWHERE now.”

Swift had written the song for her ex Joe Alwyn, something that has not been confirmed yet but many fans assume it’s about him. It gives an insight into their breakup and why it happened.

Anyway, that’s a wrap for Taylor in 2023, unless she has more surprises in line for December. Highly possible. It’s Taylor Swift we’re talking about after all.
