Since then, she has gone on the Mexican and Latin American legs of the tour. While all the shows were successful, one of the concerts in Brazil led to the death of one of the fans at the Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos. While the investigation was underway, the cause of Ana Benevides’ death was revealed.

Ana Benevides Died Due To Exposure To Extreme Heat
Taylor Swift’s Brazil leg of the ‘Eras Tour’ did not go as she planned it to. The unfortunate death of her fan, Ana Cara Benevides, shocked the fans and Swift as well. After the Argentina leg, Swift was to perform at Rio de Janeiro’s Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. During her tour, Brazil had a record heat.
Before Taylor Swift’s concert, Ana fell unconscious inside the stadium due to cardiac arrest. She was immediately taken to the hospital, where she was declared dead. Later, it was known that the stadium did not allow water bottles, and there were no facilities to provide water to the concertgoers in the extreme weather.
Now, Rio de Janeiro’s Forensic Medical Institute has released the reports, which indicate that the extreme heat was the primary cause of her death. The reason for death was alveolar hemorrhage, rupture of blood vessels that provide blood to the lungs, and polyvisceral congestion, which is failure of the lungs due to extreme heat.

Taylor Swift Reacted To Fan’s Tragic Death
Not only the Swifties, but Taylor Swift also reacted to the death of Ana Cara Benevides. Swift, after the death, took to Instagram to share her feelings after hearing the news of the death of her fan.
She wrote, “I can’t believe that I’m writing these words, but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this.”
She continued, “I’m not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it.”
Taylor Swift continued, “I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my broken heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil.”
