Why Gabriel Is Not Such A Good Boyfriend On ‘Emily In Paris’
When it comes to season one, Gabriel seemed to be the perfect choice for Emily. Lily Collins’ character Emily Cooper, who landed in Paris with a new job in a new city, met Gabriel, her hot neighbor and they instantly hit it off. It seems apparent that Gabriel fell in love with her at first sight.
The pair even shares a passionate night together at the end of season one. But then Emily learns that Gabriel’s ex Camille is very much still in love with him. So she tried to soothe her conscience by getting them together. But Gabriel still pursues her even when Emily is completely in denial. Gabriel comes with a lot of drama.
Although Gabriel complements Emily’s charismatic and chirpy character, he does turn a bit petulant and gaslighty towards her. He even runs back to his ex after Emily gets with Alfie. Gabriel and Camille go so far as to get married even. So he is not very reliable when it comes to being there for Emily. And stating an unpopular opinion here but Gabriel and Emily’s friendship is much better. In season 3, we get to see them as friends and personally, it seems that they are much better off as friends.

Alfie Seems Perfect For Emily
Emily met Alfie at her French class. And both of them have traits completely opposite to each other. While Emily has adjusted to the Parisian lifestyle Alfie does not like the city much. And he is much more practical than Emily’s whimsical nature. However, both of them connect and form a bond of friendship before getting into a relationship.
Alfie steps right up as a boyfriend. From supporting Emily to even moving to Paris to be with her, Alfie stepped up. Even though they had their fights, Alfie is the perfect choice for Emily. He is kind, understanding, successful, hot, and most importantly drama-free. Even though Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is sizzling, Alfie is definitely the endgame when it comes to boyfriends.
