Cher’s demand to be the sole conservator for her son Elijah Blue Allman has been denied a second time by Los Angeles’ Superior Court Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui. “Elijah is substantially unable to manage his financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues. Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from a trust established by his father for his benefit, but given his ongoing mental health and substance abuse issues, Petitioner (Cher) is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself, and putting Elijah’s life at risk,” the petition by Cher read.
Elijah has previously denied the claims made by his mother and said that he has had a clean slate as long as drugs were concerned. He added in a statement that even if he had had a conservator due to the nature of circumstances his mother shouldn’t be considered as an option but rather his wife Marieangela King should be given the authority.
Avi Levy, the legal representative for Elijah in the case issued a statement, “The Court’s ruling this (Jan 29th) morning represents a significant triumph for Mr. Allman’s personal liberty and legal autonomy. We, at Cage & Miles, are pleased with the Court’s decision to deny Cher’s temporary conservatorship petition.”
It further stated, “The Court’s ruling this morning represents a significant triumph for Mr. Allman’s personal liberty and legal autonomy. We, at Cage & Miles, are pleased with the Court’s decision to deny Cher’s temporary conservatorship petition.”
The court has given the date of March 6 for the case’s final hearing. The permanent conservatorship over Elijah Blue Allman shall be discussed in the hearing.

Elijah’s Wife Claims Cher To Be “Abusive”
In her initial contention, Cher had also claimed that her son’s wife Marieangela King was a disruption in her son’s recovery journey and that she enabled him to continue the cycle of substance abuse. The files cited, “Until recently, Elijah and Angela were estranged and their tumultuous relationship has been marked by a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crises.” Cher’s attorney claimed that “Most recently, (Cher) is informed and believes that Angela took steps to check Elijah out of the treatment center where he was receiving much-needed medical care.”
Mrs King denied the accusations made against her husband and said that he was the “most brilliant musical” artist and a “kind, thoughtful and generous man.” She said the bipolar disorder Cher’s side had claimed her husband to have were merely accusations and she had never noticed any such behavior when he was sober. She also had a different version of what the recovery center incident was, according to her Elijah was one day suddenly sent to a prison-like recovery center in Mexico against his will.
Marieangela King claimed, “With the help of the United States and Mexican governments, on December 15, 2023—– two months after Elijah was held captive- the Mexican federal agents escorted Elijah out of the makeshift prison-type facility… where he was being held against his will. He was dropped off at the U.S. border and was met by my attorney who drove him safely back onto U.S. soil and into my care.”
She also added, “I believe that people in Elijah’s family are emotional triggers for him. I have witnessed and experienced abusive behavior coming mostly from Elijah’s mother —the petitioner herein but also from his siblings- Chaz and Devon.”
