Helen Mirren recently took to Instagram, where she shared Tom Hardy’s photo with the caption “Love you now and always, Helen.”

The actress previously hailed Brady’s performance and finesse in a 2025 post as well. It also led netizens to believe that the entire controversy is but a media slander.

Not only that, but some media outlets, including TMZ Entertainment, even suggested that he shared a strained dynamic with co-stars Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan, leaving them waiting for hours on set.

This isn’t something that was validated or confirmed, so it’s often treated as a passing rumor.

Puck News, on the other hand, reported that Hardy suggested major changes to the script, which led to creative conflict between him and the producers.

Coming back to the Paramount+ series, there has been lots of confusion amid the information overload. With new reports and speculations coming in, here’s what actually went down so far on the sets.

Several entertainment news portals claimed that Hardy’s tardiness had a lot to do with the whole ordeal. The actor insisted on rewriting certain aspects of the script, which fuelled the feud between him and the producers, Jez Butterworth and David Glasser.

To make it worse, the rumors and leaks surrounding the actor’s firing added to the tensions.

What eventually fueled it further were the reports that Mirren’s and Hardy’s political differences caused the friction. It was also refuted by some sources, as they spoke to Variety.

Variety also confirmed that Tom Hardy is not getting fired in their exclusive feature. They also reported the various statements from sources who worked closely with the actor.

However, Guy Ritchie, who is an executive producer and director for Mobland, is actively pushing for Hardy to come back to the series. He has praised the actor on several occasions and also shares a cordial relationship with him.

The production of Season 2 is finished, and the new reports confirm that the actor is in talks with the creative team for Season 3.

It all started in March when Hardy’s behavior was taken into question. The nitpicking and his discontent with the script were among the reasons these close sources gave to the media outlet.
