Jordan has previously been expressive about his fondness towards ‘Naruto’ and “Outlier Society Productions”. The character of Sasuke, the second-in-line protagonist in ‘Naruto’, often considered himself a “lone survivor” of the Uchihas, the strongest of all clans, after his brother, Uchiha Itachi, one night put the entire clan to sleep.

This inspired him to name his production house “Outlier Society Productions” which simply translates to the phrase “the lone one out of a group or category.” In his earlier ventures as well, the actor has improvised the references from ‘Naruto’, one such example is, the use of “Rasengan” employed by his character Killmonger in ‘Black Panther‘.

Jordan surrenders to his belief that the message of ‘Naruto’ and his idea for ‘Creed III‘, in which Adonis Creed will face fresh obstacles both within and outside the ring, are alike. As he negotiates his relationship with his father’s heritage and his destiny as a boxer, Adonis struggles with questions of identity and purpose, which is very much like the journey of Nastuto as he always seeks validation and to be acknowledged by his village.

Jordan’s usage of ‘Naruto’ as inspiration for ‘Creed III’ demonstrates the influence and inspiration that anime can have on people from all walks of life and professions. Since the pandemic ravaged the world in 2020, anime has had a significant influence on popular culture, and it is fascinating to observe how it continues to affect the creative visions of artists in other sectors.
