The newly released trailer of ‘Doctor Who‘, starring Ncuti Gatwa in the lead role, has given the fans a glimpse into the adventures that he would likely take on as the Fifteenth Doctor. Accompanying him would be his companion Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.

As per the trailer wherein the Doctor declares “everything is possible,” the duo is set to face everything from encounters with dinosaurs to triggering the “butterfly effect” and attending a Regency-era ball. Joining the Doctor and Ruby on the show is guest star Jinkx Monsoon, adding more to the prevailing anticipation of what lies ahead. Ncuti Gatwa, who has risen to fame with his roles in projects like ‘Sex Education‘ and ‘Barbie‘, carries the burden of doing full justice to his role that has been played by many esteemed actors in the past installments of the hit show. Gatwa is playing the Fifteenth Doctor on the show, taking over the reins from Jodie Whittaker.

Gatwa’s portrayal of the Doctor marks a significant moment both in his career as well as the show as there’s a gap in the numbering of the star Doctors on the show. The gap is attributed to the 2023 specials, which saw David Tennant briefly return to the role as the Fourteenth Doctor to celebrate the franchise’s 60th anniversary. Tennant had played the fan-favorite Tenth Doctor on the show.

The new season of ‘Doctor Who‘ is set to premiere on Friday, May 10 on Disney+ in the U.S. and the BBC worldwide.
