Russell T Davies, the show maker was inspired by the life of one of his friends Jill during those days. The five episodes tell their story through a group of friends.

Based on the book written by Svetlana Alexievich, ‘Voices from Chernobyl: The Oral History of a Nuclear Disaster‘, the series extended to five episodes.
