There are testimonies from friends, relatives, and therapists produced in Fairfax County, Virginia Court. Johnny Depp has sued Amber Heard for $50 million in a defamation case. Heard in 2018 wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post which had mentioned domestic violence without pointing any names. In retaliation, Amber Heard has countersued Depp for $100 million. The trial began on April 12th, 2022. Now, It is said that the actress is the inspiration behind the new ‘crying’ Snapchat filter.

    When Amber Heard took the witness stand, she narrated the abuse and violence hurled at her by Johnny Depp. She was sobbing and was in tears as she narrated how Johnny Depp shoved a liquor bottle in her vagina and sexually assaulted her. Since then, the internet is flooded with memes, mockeries, and recreation of court scenes into parodies. The Aquaman actress’ crying face became viral subjected to memes and TikToks. Coincidentally, a Snapchat filter also went viral where you can morph a crying face on anyone’s face as a part of their Augmented Reality lenses.

    This lens garnered about 1.3 billion Snapchat content. It was rumored that Snapchat got inspired by Amber Heard and created the filter. The image-based app has refuted such claims. As a matter of fact, The filter was in making for the last six months. The Public Relations representatives at Snapchat have scrapped such conjectures that are making rounds and confirmed to TMZ that there is “no truth” to the rumors. Snapchat has been envisioning AR lenses and its future. 

    They said, “We’re introducing Lens Cloud, a free collection of backend services that enables Lenses to be more useful, dynamic, and connected to the world than ever before. We’re excited to see how developers leverage Lens Cloud and Lens Studio together to build a new generation of AR experiences that enhance the way we play, learn, explore, and shop.”

    Social media users are flooding the internet with memes, videos, and TikToks. One user wrote, “It’s like they put the sc crying filter on her face ???? ???? ???? ????????????.” Another user on Twitter wrote, “The Amber Heard filter is going hard, and they are killing me.” One of the users exaggerated, “New #AmberHeard Snapchat filter just dropped. Am dead.”

    This is not the first time that the actress is subjected to this brutal trolling. Recently, during her testimony, she frowned her face and said  that her “dog stepped on a bee.” Since then, the community on TikTok is creating viral content based on that statement. The case is turning into what seems a complex web of truth, lies, and deceits. However, the internet has a parallel trial going on, and the users are taking undue advantage of the same.
