It can be argued that Drew addressing Kamala as a mom figure of the country in the interview was done without any bad intentions. However, a lot of people believe that when talking to such an important figure the tone needs to be more respectful than friendly.

A lot of people were also offended at Drew wanting Kamala to be a mother figure. “I don’t need a mom I have one! The country needs competent people to represent what we want to be done, not take care of us! I can take care of myself,” an X user commented. Some people also criticized Drew’s interview style calling her the ‘worst host’.
