The 1980s saw the young couple, Robert Downey Jr. and Sarah Jessica Parker, madly in love. But their love story had a very bad turn and that caused the end of their relationship. The ‘Iron Man‘ actor, we see today is the second birth of a young man addicted to drugs and alcohol. This addiction is what put an end to the beautiful relationship between Robert and Sarah.“I was so selfish,” he said, to Huffington Post back in 2008. “I liked to drink, and I had a drug problem, and that didn’t jibe with Sarah Jessica because it is the furthest thing from what she is. Sarah provided me with a home and understanding. She tried to help me. She was so miffed when I didn’t get my act together… I was in love with Sarah Jessica, and love clearly was not enough.”
Sarah Jessica Parker was still in love with the actor while she broke up with him. But love alone wasn’t enough to mend their toxic relationship. “Eventually, I guess I just summoned the courage to leave him,” she said. “The biggest, hardest choices about those kinds of relationships are feeling brave enough to leave, even if you think they’re going to die. Because you stay, not because you’re in love anymore- You love this person, and you’re afraid they’re going to die if you aren’t there to shore up their base every single solitary day. I just didn’t want him to die,” the actress shared with the WTF podcast.

Robert Downey Jr. And Sarah Jessica Parker Today
Though the star couple did not end together, there is no form of animosity between the two. Downey got out of jail in 2002 and started fresh in his life and career. With it came the blockbusters, Iron Man and the following Marvel series. Downey thanks his second wife, producer Susan Levine for regaining back the hold on his life. The two has been married since 2005 and have two children. Downey also has another son from his first marriage to Deborah Falconer. While Sarah Jessica Parker has been married to Matthew Broderick since 1997. The duo has three children together. Thus both the parties are living their best lives.
