‘Berserk’ is one of the most popular manga and anime of all time. The manga is very famous and is quite well-received by fans all over the world. The manga has been ongoing for around 30 years and hasn’t yet ended. Unfortunately for the fans of ‘Berserk’, the creator of the action-packed manga passed away.
Kentaro Miura died in 2021 and whilst the fans were extremely saddened by his death, they couldn’t help but wonder what would happen to the manga now that he will not be drawing it anymore.

What Is Berserk?
‘Berserk’ is a dark fantasy manga that was written by Kentaro Miura. The manga follows the story of Guts, who is a mercenary. Guts is a very skilled swordsman and he killed a mercenary in self-defense. After that, he was chased out of the camp by other mercenaries. Whilst traveling alone, he encounters the band of the Hawks, another mercenary group.
The commander of the band, Griffith, wagers that Guts would join their band if he loses against him. Guts, unfortunately, lost the battle and had to join the Hawks. After serving a few years in the band, Guts starts to value and crave friendship. He chooses to achieve his own goals after helping Griffith realize his own.
Guts leave the band for a year. Upon returning, he finds out that Griffith did something terrible that got him imprisoned. In addition to that, it made the band of the hawks, criminals in the eyes of law. Guts rescues Griffith from prison, but unfortunately, their entire group gets slaughtered due to a supernatural occurrence. Griffith also ends up committing an atrocity, which leads to Guts wanting revenge on him.
What Will Happen To The Manga After Miura’s Demise?
Kentaro Miura, the creator of the wonderful manga, passed away in 2021. The manga had been ongoing for around 30 years and not many chapters were released during those years. This is because Miura’s art style is wonderful and yet very time-consuming. His story writing is also impeccable.
Now that he has passed away and cannot continue the manga anymore, fans are very curious about the fate of ‘Berserk’. They wish to know whether the manga will be continued or left as is. There is a distinct possibility that Miura’s assistants might continue his manga. However, that is a risky gamble because one has to assume that Miura told them the ending, and if he didn’t, then they wouldn’t be able to do justice to the story.
Another reason is that, as mentioned above, Miura’s artwork is quite detailed and impeccable, likely, his assistants may not be able to replicate it perfectly. The other possibility is that the manga stays as is, and his assistants do not continue his work. Fans want to respect Miura’s work and they will be content with either outcome as long as the manga isn’t changed or disrespected.
