Amber Heard Beats THIS Celebrity To Become The ‘Most Googled Person Of 2022’

Time has flown since the most explosive and scandalous Hollywood trial happened. It has been five months since the trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp concluded. The lawsuit commenced in April 2022 in Fairfax County, Virginia. Johnny Depp filed a defamation lawsuit of $50 million for an op-ed piece that his now estranged wife Amber wrote in the Washington Post in 2018. In turn, Heard filed a countersuit of $100 million.

The trial ran for three months and on social media, there was a parallel trial where people took sides. The majority of the people who sided with Johnny Depp mocked Amber and a witch hunt commenced on social media. Even before the trial concluded, people did more damage to Amber’s image. There were memes, mockeries, and mimicries made on many social media platforms. It was misogynistic, traumatic, and humiliating. But, this led to a surge in the searches for the case which made the ‘Aquaman’ actress the most searched person on Google in 2022. But, who did she beat to earn the title?

Many celebrity figures created a buzz on the internet. The year was filled with many controversies, sad demises, and stand-out moments. As the year is ending, CelebTattler collected the data to conclude who is the most googled person in 2022.

A spokesperson from CelebTattler said, “This year has certainly not been lacking when it comes to celebrity news stories, whether it be Elon Musk taking over Twitter or the ‘Don’t Worry, Darling’ behind-the-scenes drama.”

The year has been tumultuous for Amber Heard due to her infamous trial with her ex-husband Johnny Depp. The social media platforms were blasting with mocking content about her testimonies. There was witch-hunting in the process. Toxicity, without respecting the woman in the picture, was prevailing. This spiked the engagement of the netizens giving traffic to both celebrities.

Due to this, Amber became the most searched celebrity on Google with an average search of 5.6 million searches per month. She beat her ex-husband Johnny Depp, who had 5.5 million searches per month.

CelebTattler took the help of Google Trends points of 150 notable celebrities and analyzed them. After these two, the other celebrity who took the third spot on the list is the late British monarch Queen Elizabeth II. The death of the Queen in September 2022 sent shockwaves across the globe. Many were saddened due to the death of the ailing Queen Elizabeth II. The drama and the long-winded royal family rituals earned her 4.3 million google searches per month.

Tom Brady earned the fourth position due to his unexpected divorce from Gisele Bündchen and his tug-of-war with the NFL. The next two positions were acquired by the former lovebirds, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. The two have had a turbulent start due to Kim’s ex-husband bullying and harassing the couple as well as their family, friends, and exes.

But, the surge happened when the SKIMS founder wore the Marilyn Monroe dress for the Met Gala event in May 2022. Kim and Pete had 3.4 million and 3.2 million searches, respectively.

The others who earned the spot on the list were Kanye West, Elon Musk, Will Smith, Zendaya, and Millie Bobby Brown. Despite the great year for Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, who won accolades and had controversies in proportion, made it in the Top 15 list alongside LeBron James, Ryan Reynolds, and others. The spokesperson added, “This study offers a fascinating insight into which celebrities have had the biggest impact on the American people and it will be interesting to see if these search figures rise or fall in 2023”.
