Meghan Markle Could’ve Made “Genuine Change” In The World If She Hadn’t Given Up Royal Life, Insists Royal Biographer

Andrew Morton, a royal biographer, thinks Meghan Markle fired the gun too soon. He feels that if she hadn’t given up so quickly, she would have been a “natural” at living the life of a royal.

It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left United Kingdom’s royal family. They famously stepped back as working royals. Now, another dimension of Meghan’s decisions has been discussed by Morton.

Meghan Markle Would Have Made A “Genuine Change” In The World

Author Andrew Morton said on The Mirror‘s podcast ‘Pod Save the Queen‘ that if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hadn’t decided to leave the institution in 2020, her compassionate nature and kindness would have allowed her to become one of the royal family’s most adored members.

Morton shared that he felt both Meghan and Harry could have waited. He said, “The great tragedy, I think, is that Meghan and Harry didn’t give it long enough to see whether they could give it a go. They were on the out almost before the wedding music had finished.”

“Meghan is a natural — I’ve got pictures of her when she was age 10 leading a march against the first Gulf War at her school. The local TV cameras turned up and she was there giving interviews. She spoke at the United Nations with Hillary Clinton,” Morton added.

He added that Meghan would have been a change if she used her abilities. “She had the great possibility of using her talent and her position to make a genuine change to the world. I don’t think she’s going to make such a change living in Montecito.”

New Life Of The Sussexes In California

Most people assume that Meghan was the one who urged Harry to renounce his position as monarch, but the author believes that he himself made up his mind. They were thinking about living in New Zealand and they even spoke to the Prime Minister of New Zealand about this — so they had all kinds of plots and thoughts for their future,” he said.

“It didn’t work out because when it actually comes down to it, Prince Harry is cursed with charisma but hates being a prince, and I think that he saw Meghan as a way out. They didn’t have to leave the royal family in the way that they did, but they did,” Morton added.

Since relocating to California, the Sussexes have signed significant collaborations with services like Netflix, which will release Harry’s documentary about the Invictus Games. Spotify will debut episodes of their Archewell podcast. The animated children’s show Meghan was working on with the streaming service, initially dubbed ‘Pearl‘, was abandoned earlier this year. It was claimed that the decision to cancel the program and two other children’s TV series was influenced by the company’s declining stock price and ensuing layoffs.
