ACLU general counsel Terence Daugherty made some shocking statements about Ms. Heard. Daugherty said the ACLU reached out to Heard in 2019 about the pledged annual installments “and we learned that she was having financial difficulties.”

He said that Elon Musk made a one million dollar donation to the organization. Elon Musk is also Amber Heard’s ex and the two dated after a split with Johnny Depp. Daugherty also said ACLU staffers pushed to beef up Ms. Heard’s op-ed piece in the Washington Post.

The final piece did not prove Depp as an abuser but the reference made by Ms. Heard left no doubt that it referred to Depp, Daugherty said. During the testimony, Johny Depp sat in the court eating gummy bears listening to the pre-tapped disposition from December- just feet away from Amber Heard.
