It’s been five months since the Señorita artists Shawn Mendes and Camilla Cabello parted their ways. The ex-couple ensured that they will remain best friends as they were during the inception of the relationship. Both have been hurt by the breakup.
They tried healing themselves through their music. Camilla and Shawn both have released songs about their breakup. Healing for them and everyone is a long process. But, recently, Shawn did not shy away from being outspoken about his insecurities via Twitter.
Shawn Mendes Wants To Appear His True Self In The World
It takes a lot of strength to express our vulnerabilities in front of the world. It is even more difficult when you are in the public eye. However, Shawn on Tuesday evening had musings. He expressed himself in a letter shared on Twitter.
In the letter, Mendes talked about being honest to the world, fear of failure, anxiety, tribulations of being in one’s 20s, overlooking the good that is in life, and much more. First, he tweeted, “hey guys,” and continued, “how r u?” After these tweets, he tweeted a screenshot of a letter written on the Notes application.

He started the letter with his musing about what he should be doing in life. “sometimes I ask my self what is that i should be doing with life.” Shawn revealed the answer that he always gets back, “what I always hear in return is ‘to tell the truth, to be the truth.’ “ However, he is afraid to tell the truth, due to fear of rejection from the people.
Shawn continued, “The truth, in current form is a 23 year old who constantly feels like he’s either flying or drowning. Maybe that’s just what it is to be in your 20’s idk, or maybe that’s just me.” He feels that he should be 100 % authentic and does not care what people think. This for him is when he “feels free.” The singer also admitted, “most of the time it’s a struggle.”

While ending his letter, he confessed, “The truth is even with so much success I still find it hard to feel like I’m not failing. Hyper focused on what I don’t have, forgetting to see all that I do. The truth is I am overwhelmed and overstimulated lol. The truth is ALSO that I’m okay. I’m just tryna tell and be the truth. I like to think that maybe me saying this might resonate with some people.”
Later, Shawn also admitted that he is doing okay. He just wanted to communicate with his fans in the most honest way. The artist acknowledged that with all the blessings that he has and still feels like this, there must be so many people feeling the same.
Mendes did not want them to feel alone and isolated. A user @wonderisruel tweeted, “this feels like a hug from him ????” Replying to the user, he wrote, “i’m really glad, this is definitely a hug from me.”
