Seeing a famous person on your flight is fun to brag about to your pals, nevertheless, the event itself isn’t really noteworthy. At the most, you get an autograph or a photograph, if the celebrity allows it. But recently, passengers received a heartwarming surprise upon seeing former US president Jimmy Carter walk down the aisle of a commercial Delta plane en route to Washington, D.C from Atlanta.
The man is known for his humility and he made the journey of his fellow passengers memorable with a kind gesture. Twitter obviously showered him with love.

Jimmy Carter Shook Hands With Every Passenger on His Flight
Former President Jimmy Carter, 97, walked through the Delta plane’s main cabin to shake hands with everyone on board before settling into his first-class seat for the funeral of his former national security advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, in Washington, D.C.
Photographs and videos taken by passengers from their seats show the Secret Service detail in tow, with the cheery Carter farmer pausing momentarily at every row to smile and make small conversation.
Jimmy Carter has spent more than 36 years since his days as US President. This places him among the presidents with the longest post-presidency careers in American history. On a number of the commercial flights he has taken in the past, passengers have reported seeing him greet them and offer his best wishes.
Twitter Loved The Former President’s Actions
Enthralled by his kind gesture, Twitter exploded with respect for former president Jimmy Carter. While some called him a “great man”, others wished the best for him. One person also called him “national treasure” and said he should be wrapped in cotton wool.
No mask? Wrap that man in cotton wool. He’s a national treasure!

In an interview with the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia, the former President’s spontaneous meet-and-greet was described by a fellow traveler “It’s hard to put into words what a nice reprieve from the current political theater this moment was. His enthusiasm was authentic and humble, in a way that made things feel less heavy for a moment,” he said.
