“This Is What I Do For Met Ball”: Jessica Biel Shares A Sneak Peak Of Her Self-Care Routine Before Met Gala
Before walking on the Met Gala 2024 red carpet in a stunning pink dress, Jessica Biel took to social media to share her preparations for the event in a TikTok video. The video showed the actress getting herself soaked in 20 lbs. of Epsom salt for 30 minutes in hot water the night before the event. “For real,” she emphasized in the video as she poured the salt into the bathtub.
In the video, the actress is seen preparing for her bath. Dressed in a bathing robe, she shows her viewers several packets of Epsom salt and then puts all of them in the bathtub. “I know some people like to party before Met Balls and I have respect for that. But this is what I do for Met Ball,” she declares before poring 20 pounds of Epsom salt into her bathtub.

Further clarifying that she is going to be soaked in hot water with Epsom salt for 30 mins followed by an early bed routine. “See you tomorrow Met Ball,” she says before concluding the video. Epsom Salt is often used for relaxing baths that are known for regulating heart function, reducing muscle soreness, and relieving cramps.

Jessica Biel’s Last Presence At Met Gala Was In 2013
The last time Jessica Biel appeared at the Met Gala was in 2013, when the event was themed ‘PUNK: Chaos to Couture’. At the time, she walked the carpet wearing a striking black Giambattista Valli macramé and tulle gown paired with matching pants and patent leather pumps by the designer. Her outfit was accessorized with Fred Leighton diamonds, and a nose ring to embrace the theme.
A year before that, Biel attended the Met Gala with her then-fiancé Justin Timberlake. It was just five months before their wedding in Italy in October 2012. The couple is now married with two sons, Phineas and Silas. However, Timberlake did not accompany her to the Met Gala.
The 2024 Met Gala was themed ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, aligning with the upcoming Costume Institute exhibit. The exhibit will feature around 250 items, including notable pieces like an 1877 Charles Frederick Worth silk satin ball gown, spanning over 400 years of history.
Talking about the exhibition, curator Andrew Bolton described it as an ode to nature, organized into three main “zones” inspired by the natural world: Land, Sea, and Sky. “It is very much an ode to nature and the emotional poetics of fashion,” he said. Moreover, the dress code for the 2024 Met Gala, ‘The Garden of Time,’ draws inspiration from J.G. Ballard’s story of the same name.
