Last week, Hailey Bieber introduced her skin brand Rhode, and she is already receiving criticism. The same-named apparel firm has filed a lawsuit against Bieber, alleging that she tried to take over their brand name.
Hailey Bieber has used social media to promote her company; a single Justin Bieber post promoting the beauty line received over 1.5 million likes. On Instagram, some users identified Rhode name and pointed out the obvious.

Hailey Bieber Sued For Copying Other Brand’s Name
A clothing firm with the same name as the model’s skincare line, Rhode, is suing her. According to ‘Insider’, the clothing company is requesting a preliminary injunction against Bieber.
Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers, the co-founders of RHODE, assert in court documents that Justin Bieber’s new collection causes customer confusion and would ultimately cause “irreparable damage” to their business.
Additionally, they assert that Bieber tried to purchase the name from them four years ago, knowing full well that they already owned it. Bieber is being asked to stop using the name for her company by the 2013-launched fashion line. It also pointed to a TikTok she made, in which she stated that “clothes will come,” as evidence that she was encroaching on their fashion market.
“Hailey could choose any brand for her skin-care line,” RHODE wrote on Instagram. “We have only the brand name ‘RHODE’ that we’ve built. That’s why we didn’t sell her our brand when she asked four years ago, and why we ask her now to change her skin-care line’s brand. Her using our brand is hurting our company, our employees, our customers, and our partners.”
Bieber celebrated the debut of her skincare line last week and posted a few pictures from the occasion on Instagram. On Instagram, her brand account already has more followers than the original RHODE.
