Tesla CEO Elon Musk finds himself “identical” to multiple times Grammy award-winning rapper Eminem, and claims they have “few differences maybe”. Does social media agree with this?
Business tycoon, Elon Musk has declared himself identical to rapper Eminem and may have “few differences.” All of this came after the SpaceX founder cited the rapper’s popular song at a U.S. SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) hearing. The 50-year-old billionaire comes up with quirky tweet every day that creates headlines. But he has to wait for the pre-approvals for his tweet and this he wants to bring an end to.
Elon Musk Quotes Eminem In His Battle With SEC
Billionaire and business mogul, Elon Musk wants to bring an end to the 2018 agreement with the major U.S, securities regulator essential to him to obtain preapprovals for his tweets, as per sources.
During the hearing, he took the reference to Eminem’s 2002 famous song, Without Me, and quoted, “they [SEC] won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see; They tried to shut me down.”
I mean we’re basically identical – a few differences maybe …

All of this started because SEC is under investigation for Musk’s tweet done on November 6, last year. In which he asked Twitter users about selling his 10% Tesla stake so that he can cover tax scores on stock options. In Tuesday’s hearing, Musk said requiring Tesla legal counselors to study a portion of his tweets was an illegal prior control of his discourse, disregarding the First Amendment.
This song by Eminem aired when his work, “The Real Slim Shady” faced a boycott by the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) due to its lyrics that were marked down as offensive. So, while replying to a tweet, Musk stated that “I mean we’re basically identical–a few differences maybe…” This reply created a social media stir as fans are reacting to it by posting memes and mentioning the similarities and differences between the two renowned personalities.
Musk’s Tweet Created A Social Media Divide
Before this, identical theory, Musk was in the headline when he did a poll on whether Twitter adheres to the principles of free speech. In this, more than 70% of users tapped on no. Many even urged that the billionaire should buy Twitter instead of launching his new social media platform just like the former US president did. Fans are now reacting to his latest tweet and making a line of similarities and dissimilarities between him and Eminem.
